ABOUT THE CONVENTION MEDIA OPERATIONS FAQ

 

The Republican National Convention has again partnered with the Congressional Press Galleries to manage media accreditation for this summer’s event. The media ticket application is now available on each of the four Gallery websites. Outlets must apply by April 10, 2020.

All daily newspapers, foreign and domestic news wire services and online publications affiliated with daily news organizations should contact the House Daily Press Gallery for tickets, workspace applications and other convention inquiries.

All periodical publications, magazines, newsletters, non-daily newspapers, online publications, etc. should contact the Senate Periodical Press Gallery for tickets, workspace applications and other convention inquires.

All photographers representing qualified publications and news services who plan to cover the convention should contact the Press Photographers Gallery to apply for tickets and workspace.

All radio and television news organizations and programs, including online news sites with original audio and video, should contact the House Radio/TV Gallery to apply for tickets, workspace, Media Row, radio broadcast seats, suites and stand-up positions.

The deadline to apply for media hotels is May 1. Please visit onpeak.com/RNCMedia to submit your application. Housing requests and hotel assignments will be fulfilled on a rolling basis. Hotel rooms will only be released to credentialed and ticketed media.

To request parking for the 2020 Republican National Convention, please complete the online hotel request form. You do not need to request a hotel room to be considered for parking. Parking space will be limited; the location, number of spaces and fee per space will be made on a rolling basis in late Summer 2020. All applications for parking must be submitted by May 1, 2020. Media parking spaces will only be assigned to credentialed and ticketed media.

In the event your organization is not credentialed through the Congressional Press Galleries, the Republican National Convention has an accreditation process to accommodate your request for tickets, seating and/or workspace. The appropriate editor or news director of the organization should apply in writing on behalf of the individual who will cover the convention no later than May 1, 2020.

Please submit requests using your organization’s letterhead to specialty_media@2020gopconvention.com. Include the organization’s request for tickets, seating, media parking and housing. A recent copy of the publication or online content featuring the work of the reporter should be included with the application. Specialty Media space is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Republican National Convention does not charge media outlets for workspace inside the security perimeter; fees associated with locations in our convention venues are related to the buildout cost of assigned media spaces. Please email mediaops@2020gopconvention.com for more information.

The Republican National Convention conducts two logistical walkthroughs for the media ahead of the convention. The Fall Media Walkthrough was held in November, and the Spring Media Walkthrough will take place April 15. More information about registration for the spring event will be available in the coming months.
